In 2011, we supported and joined the Sudan Now campaign, activists and Sudanese around the world in a 24-hour-long Hunger Strike For Darfur and demand that urgent action be taken.
This year, iACT announced a 100-day Fast for Darfur, as 2013 marks the 10th anniversary of the escalation of violence in Darfur. “To honor the victims and stand with the survivors, we are tag-team fasting for 100 days, starting on April 6th and ending July 14, 2013″.
From Gabriel Stauring’s blog post, Co-founder and Director of iACT:
The 2013 100-Day Fast for Darfur is about connecting. It’s about connecting as communities and as individuals. It’s about saying “10 years is enough.” Join me in fasting and connecting with our Darfuri friends that have lost so much–but who have so much more to offer. I promise you it will be an experience you won’t forget.
We will fast for Darfur, support and join 100-day Fast for Darfur!
