Stop Planting Mines In Nuba Mountains

Nuba MountainsA few days ago a Petition was launched on Avaaz.org asking to stop planting mines in Nuba Mountains:

Please take action now to stop the Sudanese government from Planting mines in civilians areas in Nuba mountains. Thousands of students stopped going to schools because the mines has closed the roads they take.

Few Weeks ago the Sudanese Arny Started planting anti-vehicles mines in the civilians areas of Uncho tribes in Nuba mountains to stop the movement of the rebels across this area. In result of this action more than 30 thousands of Uncho ethnicity are living under siege because of what the government called the ” Gulf of Mines”.

Calling on the United Nation and the Security council and the international and local human rights organizations and advocates to urgently take actions to stop this war crimes against the civilians in the Uncho tribes area, we also call on them to put pressure on the Sudanese government to stop the planting of mines in the civilians areas and reveal the maps where the mines are planted and to open safe roads to the civilians.
